What does the animal do
- The Eastern Hellbender is completely aquatic. They prefer streams with debris at the bottom such as big rocks, logs, and debris.
- The Easter Hellbender is an indicator of the streams health; without the Eastern Hellbender we would not know the conditions of the streams without certain equipment.
- If young adult Eastern Hellbenders are in the stream or river that means that the water quality is good.
- They may not be in every river and stream because they prefer fast flowing, clear, and well oxygenated water.
